Studio Lucie de Moyencourt Shellegant Wall Shell Maxi 032
Created in Cape Town by French-South African artist Lucie de Moyencourt, the Shellegant wall shells are coveted ceramic works that merge sculpture, painting, and design. Each shell is entirely hand-formed and hand-painted, resulting in singular pieces that blur the line between fine art and decorative object.
First conceived as a personal project, Shellegant has since become an international phenomenon—highly sought after and produced only in limited quantities. Their irregular, organic forms and painterly glazes evoke the poetry of the sea, while their rarity and craftsmanship have made them prized by collectors worldwide.
Each shell is crafted in porcelain, stoneware, or terracotta and bears Lucie de Moyencourt’s ceramic stamp on the reverse. They are designed for wall display and come fitted with a custom brass wire hanging system, hand-formed by Zimbabwean artist George Magaso.
