Myriam au Citron Osaka
Myriam au Citron is a French artist whose vibrant work is a joyful celebration of Moroccan life, memory, and cultural identity. Born in Lille to a French mother and a Moroccan father, she draws deeply from her North African heritage, infusing her art with the warmth, pattern, and poetry of everyday Moroccan scenes.
Myriam began her creative path as an illustrator, capturing moments in gouache and watercolor with a naïve yet meticulous style. Over time, her practice expanded into animation, fashion illustration, and most recently, oil on canvas—marking her steady ascendancy into the world of contemporary art.
Her work is rooted in personal memory and ethnographic observation, portraying souks, kitchens, family gatherings, and Jewish Moroccan traditions with striking detail and affection. Whether through hand-painted ceramics, food wrappers, or embroidered textiles, Myriam’s pieces reflect a deep cultural reverence for Morocco’s layered visual language.
Her art has been exhibited at the Musée Slaoui in Casablanca, a leading institution dedicated to modern and contemporary Moroccan art. Now based in Tangier, Myriam continues to evolve her medium and subject matter, bridging tradition and modernity in a way that feels both intimate and universal. Her distinctive voice is gaining increasing recognition for its sincerity, storytelling, and rich sense of place.
