Meet Taya. With her strong lines, stylized face and graphic headdress, she could almost be modernist — yet her inspiration comes directly from the faces found in ancient Coptic textiles. Painted entirely in deep blue on the natural pottery, the single-color palette gives the design a distinctly contemporary character. Designed in-house and individually hand-painted in Fayoum by Sarah, no two Tayas are ever quite alike. Ancient inspiration, surprisingly modern face.
